How does the Finecto Red Mite test work? Red mites come out of hiding at night and climb up the legs of a chicken or bird to suck blood. When they have had enough, they walk back the same way over their legs and look for the nearest hiding place. Lice like a small dark space, where they cannot be eaten by chickens. If you attach the Finecto Test tube directly under the perch, this is the first suitable hiding place they come across. The lice will try to form a nest on the stick to lay their eggs. Because the stick is easy to remove, you can check the number of lice weekly and take appropriate measures. Directions for use: Fix the test tube with 2 tie-ribs under the perch where the animals stay overnight. Slide the wooden stick with the ring into the tube, so that it protrudes slightly on both sides. After one week, remove the stick from the tube and count the number of red lice on the stick. On the basis of this number you can determine the correct treatment (see table below). Then clean the stick with warm water and slide it back into the tube. Check the wooden stick for lice every week. Based on the number of lice, determine the time and method of treatment.
